"What's the difference between the various types of power lift chairs?"

There are four basic styles of lift chairs; 2-Position Lift Chairs, 3-Position Lift Chairs, Infinite Position Lift Chairs, and Zero Gravity Lift Chairs. All styles of liftchair will lower a person from a standing position to sitting, and lift a person to a standing position. The main differences between Lift Chair styles is the Recline Function:

2-Position Lift Chairs

A Two position lift chair has a lift position, a sitting position, and a slight recline position. As the user reclines in a two position lift chair, their back and thighs will stay at about 90 degrees, and the footrest is extended - great for watching TV or reading; they do not recline for sleeping. This style is generally the most economical. These lift chairs are perfect if you're looking for the most affordable lift chair.

3-Position Lift Chairs

A Three position lift chair has a lift position, a sitting position, a slight recline (reading), and a reclining position that will recline to about 135 degrees (napping), which will allow most people to sleep. The style of these lift chairs make it the most popular for balance between affordability and functionality.

Infinite Position Lift Chairs

An Infinite position lift chair allows the chair to go fully flat and the back and the feet to move independently. This type can sometimes allow the Trendelenburg position whereby the feet are higher than the heart.

Zero Gravity Lift Chairs

A Zero gravity position lift chair is similar to the infinite position style; they utilize two motors with the added ability to place the person seated into a 'zero gravity position' in which the person's legs are elevated above his or her heart (the Trendelenburg position). This has the advantage of helping those with back problems, circulation issues, and or reduced lung capacity.
